This is Tonke

Since childhood, my father took my brother and me on trips. We camped all over the Netherlands and France, went cycling in Denmark and trekking in the Alps and Norway. We had a the Waard tent and small hikers’ tents. Later I went on wonderful trips with my wife.

In 2005 our daughter Tonke was born (and a little later in 2008 our son Willem) and at the same time I started building campers. Initially alone, but soon with a growing team of great professionals.

I still like camping with my family, of course in a Tonke. So not only do I run the most beautiful company in the Netherlands, but I also know everything about camping and traveling with our motorhomes. As a fellow traveler, you can also see this in the details of our motorhomes. Everything is functional, solid, beautiful and well thought out: Of course, you want to be able to cook outside! And of course, you want a good bed! And of course, the car must also be suitable for daily use, must be able to accommodate extra seats, surfboards and bicycles.

The VAN has been voted ‘motorhome of the year’ twice by the Dutch public. Nowadays we also export the VAN to almost all continents.

I am especially proud of the launch of the world’s first really serious electric motorhome and the wonderful press and awards we have won with it. Of course we will also continue to build VANs on fuel. For anyone who wants to be independent. There is something to be said for both products.
