We are proud to share that Tonke has been honored with a prestigious Red Dot Design Award. With our Tonke ID.Buzz Explorer, we successfully impressed the jury and secured this award. A special recognition for our team and for the vision behind this compact, electric camper.

The Tonke ID.Buzz Explorer

For this award, we entered our Tonke ID.Buzz Explorer. This camper is based on the fully electric Volkswagen ID.Buzz and was developed with one clear goal: to achieve maximum comfort and ease of use within a compact format.

The strength of the ID.Buzz Explorer lies in its smart layout. Every centimeter has been thoughtfully used, enabling the vehicle (despite its limited dimensions) to offer a surprisingly complete and highly functional interior. Think of flexible living and sleeping solutions, practical storage space, and a design that effortlessly adapts to different moments of use; from daily transport to travel and overnight stays.

With this camper, we demonstrate how innovation, design, and sustainability come together in a new way of traveling.

What Is the Red Dot Award?

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most renowned design competitions in the world. Each year, thousands of products from across the globe are evaluated by an international and independent panel of experts.

Entries are assessed based on various criteria, including innovation, functionality, quality, ergonomics, and design. Winning a Red Dot signifies that a product stands out for its outstanding and forward-thinking design.

As such, the award is widely regarded as an important mark of quality within the global design industry.
